Shabrina is an experienced IP lawyer who has successfully represented global brands in trademark disputes, IP transactions, and infringement cases in Indonesia. She has worked with leading companies across sectors like technology, fashion, and entertainment, offering strategic advice on IP licensing, industrial design, and legal matters. Nabila also publishes articles on intellectual property and advises both local and international clients.

Education & Achievement

Shabrina graduated from Universitas Indonesia (2015–2019), where she honed her legal skills and gained an in-depth understanding of international law and technology law. She also served as a research assistant at the Center for International Law Studies at ALSA (Asian Law Students’ Association).

Shabrina continued her academic journey by pursuing an LL.M. (Master of Laws) at the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on Law and Technology. She also obtained a Certificate in Law and Technology, further expanding her knowledge in areas such as informational privacy law, cybersecurity law, blockchain, and fintech.

Shabrina’s key achievements include:

  • Advocacy: Representing graduates at UC Berkeley during the Muslim commencement speech in 2023.
  • Publishing impactful research on conflict of interest in trademark use under the TRIPS agreement and carbon-neutral policies in Indonesia, which was featured in the Asian Business Law Journal.
  • Writing articles on current issues such as New Year’s coal export ban and killer acquisitions, published in Investor Daily and Harian Bisnis Indonesia.
  • Speaking on legal issues in podcasts, such as discussing Barnett v. Apple and Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act with Tatiana Rice, and analyzing the Digital Markets Act with Professor Jurgen Kohling.

Shabrina has been deeply involved in advocacy groups and has also contributed to the Berkeley Technology Law Journal as a podcast team member and writer. She is a member of various legal organizations, including the Women in Tech Law and the Asian Pacific Law Students Association (APALSA). She has also contributed to pro bono legal work for Palestinian advocacy through the Palestinian Legal Assistance (PALA) program.
