What is a Copyright?

Copyright is a collection of exclusive rights vested automatically to the original creator of a work.

Copyright protects ideas that take a tangible form. Copyright protection includes works in the field of science, art, and literature. The creator has the right to reproduce, publish, perform, communicate, and adapt their work. This exclusive right allows the owner to control the commercial exploitation of their work.

Why Do You Need a Copyright Service?

Copyright grants the right owner of a work control of their asset without fear of misuse of others.

Copyright laws give creators the exclusives rights to use, produce, adapt, distribute and monetize their work.

The following are eligible for protection under Copyright Law:

05 Artistic Works

(e.g., paintings, photographs)

06 Musical Work

(e.g., melodies)

07 Films

08 Dramatic Works

(e.g.,. scripts for films and dramas)

09 Literary Works

(e.g., written works, source codes of computer programs)

What is Not Protected by Copyright?

1. Ideas or Concepts

2. Discoveries

3. Procedures

4. Methods

5. Works or Other Subject Matter that has Not to be Made in a Tangible Form in a Recording or Writing

6. Subject Matter that is Not Original Authorship

7. Copyright and Registered Designs*

*When an artistic work, such as a drawing or a sculpture, is applied to a product and industrially produced (i.e., more than 50 copies of the products are made), copyright protection will no longer cover that artistic work. It may be protected as a registered design under the Registered Designs Act if the registration criteria are met.
